Lately I have been freezing on the 24/7 Goldrush server for about 30 seconds at a time. I can see other people moving and hear voice from other players for about the first 10-15 seconds then completely freeze for the remaining time. This happens quite frequently and only on this server and not any of the other SourceOP servers. Sometimes at the end of the freeze I hear a bubbling noise? Its quite odd. Its only me who freezes sometimes in mid air only to find out later that i have been killed.
Please advise.

This problem seems vaguely familiar... maybe it's just me.

Hi elusiveviper,
This has been a problem for some people, myself included, for about 3-4 days now. Have you only started noticing it recently? Do you notice that it occurs just after voice chat of some sort? How often does it occur in one playing session? How long are you typically on the server before the problem occurs?
Unfortunately I don't know what else to tell you at the moment other than you are not alone and we are trying to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue and how to fix it.
I'm glad you stopped by the forums and if I learn anything more that may help you, I will let you know right away.
Thanks!

Yeah my friend has been having the same problem as well. I dont think its after anything specific. I think it started for me about 2 weeks ago? Maybe sooner I'm not sure. It will occur about once every 3-4 minutes I suppose, sometimes 3 freezes in succession. I don't know how many times per session since it will depend on how much patients I have for that day. Just today I was on the server and right as I selected my class and arrived at spawn it started to freeze so the range is from immediately to about 4 minutes then.
Thanks for the quick response!

are those of you experiencing this issue using "mat_queue_mode 2" ?
i have heard that using that cvar fixes the issue you are describing. try it out if you don't use it currently.
alternatively, the following may help:
- try running tf2 with an older version of directx (use launch option -dxlevel followed by the directx version you want to use, no periods)
- try running tf2 with -safe as a launch option
- try turning on developer mode as a launch option using -dev
- turn off bloom, hrd, anti-aliasing, etc and update your video drivers
im assuming its something specific to YOU, only because that's the only thing i can help troubleshoot with. its worth giving it a shot... if i had to play tf2 the way that you describe, i would be rage quitting every 10 minutes

The bubbling noise you hear is you recovering from a timeout.

elusiveviper,
If you come back to the forums or see me online, can you tell me if you are still having the problem? I was getting it consistently on Goldrush but as of yesterday, it stopped.
